Mom tester Emily says it took her a few attempts to get the hang of assembling it but once she was able to do it it was quick and simple. The daughter also did well sleeping.

It includes a bassinet for newborns and foldable mattress so it's suitable from the moment of birth. It has a side zipper that allows you to lay on the floor with your baby and watch them sleep. Then, roll them into the crib to ensure security and then zip it up. This is a great solution if you're used to co-sleeping and want to keep it up for as long as possible.

The Halo My Crib requires a bit more effort to put together than other travel cots, however, it's still not a challenge. MFM mum home tester Jasmine loved the way the bedside crib was in her bedroom and how well it stood up to use. She also appreciated its size, saying it was larger than the size of a Moses basket but not so large that it felt like it was over-sized. She found it was easy to find bedding for and the mattress was of a good quality, unlike some she's seen which feel flimsy or thin.

It is essential to keep in mind that a crib beside the bed is not a substitute for a baby sleeping bag, or swaddle. This will not ensure the safety of your baby during sleep. It is essential to adhere to the Back To Sleep campaign guidelines, which advise that your child sleep on their back in the crib or cot. Additionally, it's important to take away any pillows, duvets, or blankets that could hinder your baby's breathing.

Easy to clean

If you want your child to sleep comfortably when away from home, a bedside travel cot is a great alternative. You can monitor them as they sleep, and you'll have a safe space to change their diaper. Easy to store

The mattress is soft and is a pleasure to touch. The fabric is machine washable and is very durable. However the mattress is smaller than the others and our mum tester Kathryn discovered it was quite low to the ground, which meant she had to bend down to pick up her child to go to bed.

It's also a bit heavier than some of the other travel cots that we've test, but it's quite lightweight and compact. It's easy to set up and the four mesh sides are great for visibility and ventilation. It also has a music function, a nightlight, and a changing station. However, our mom test participant Nicola felt that her older son Olly was not a fan of these features.

This cot, aside from the other accessories, is a simple and basic design. It's one of the most sought-after cots available because of its weight and convenience. It is suitable from the time of birth and is easily transformed into a toddler travel crib and playpen. One side opens for easier access. It comes with a carry bag which makes it easy to transport and store when not in use.

The majority (but not all) airlines allow you to use a portable crib for free, so it's worth considering your needs when browsing alternatives.
